Craft Beer Week at Brasserie V

It’s here. Again.

That would be Madison Craft Beer Week, the now-annual celebration of all things fermented and artisanal. Here at Brasserie V, we’ll be celebrating with friends old and new alike for our handful of events. We’ll fill in the details as we finalize things, so watch this page; but for now, here’s what you can look forward to:

Sunday, May 1st (1:30-4:30)Sunday Funday with B. United Importers and David Frost

B. United is one of our favorite importers to work with. They bring an absolutely unreal variety of great beers to the States, from classics like Reissdorf Kolsch and Schneider Weisse to weirdos and upstarts like BFM, Del Ducato, and Iqhilika South African Meads. We’re slowly but sure amassing a dizzying selection of rare kegs from these maniacs; the final list will be posted in the coming weeks, but expect names like Wild Beer Company, OEC, BFM, and De Dolle to pop up. This event requires reservations ahead of time; price is $65/person, and includes special food by our excellent kitchen staff.

Tuesday, May 3rd (5:00 pm)Door County Brewing Tap Takeover with brewmaster Danny McMahon

This one is very special to us. Not only is the Door County crew bringing some great limited-edition kegs with them, but they’ll also be debuting a beer brewed just for us, tapped and sold exclusively at Brasserie V! We have the full lineup for this one: Carl IPA, Pete IPA, Pastoral Saison, Equinox Saison, Brett Saison, Brasserie V Beer (as yet unnamed; Belgian-style tripel with Barriques’ Brasserie V blend coffee and vanilla beans)

Wednesday, May 4th – Old World vs. New World w/Merchant du Vin Imports

This has become something of a tradition for us. Merchant du Vin can take most of the credit for introducing our nation to breweries like Samuel Smith, Rochefort, Orval, Saison Dupont, and more. Join MDV reps and the Brasserie V crew as we taste some classic examples of timeless beer styles alongside their more modern counterparts. This is not a contest of eras, but an examination and celebration of the beer world’s constant, remarkable evolution. This event requires reservations.

Thursday, May 5th3 Sheeps Brewing Tap Takeover

We love 3 Sheeps Brewing here at Brasserie V and, fortunately, they love us too. We have most of the tap list done at this point, and it’s already looking great: Happy Summer IPA (Citra/Mosaic/Amarillo), Bam Ba Lamb Black Saison, Roll Out the Barrel (Bourbon Barrel Golden Ale), Uber Joe (Imperial Black Wheat Ale w/vanilla beans, cocoa nibs, coffee, and maple wood staves), and a special bar-top cask-pin of Hello, My Name is Joe with bourbon-soaked oak.
