About Us

We are a casual, European-inspired neighborhood brasserie located on Madison's historic Monroe Street.  Our concept is really pretty simple.  It was borne out of the passion for the French Joie de Vivre developed over years spent in France and Belgium, and combines our love of simple, unpretentious food paired with Belgian beer and noble wines.

We serve lunch and dinner daily, and brunch on Sunday.  We also offer an extensive rotating selection of over 100 world-class beers, including 50 Belgians, and 14 tap options.  A full wine list featuring nearly 30 European and Californian wines is also available, all by the glass or the bottle.

Our chef Rob Grisham and his staff prepare our food from scratch on-premises, using fresh, high-quality ingredients.  While we are inspired globally, we source locally where we can.  Some of our current local sources include Fountain Prairie Farms, Potter's Crackers, Hook's Cheese, Shooting Star farm, among others.

Signature menu items include Frites (hand-cut potatoes double-fried in the classic Belgian tradition and accompanied with rotating aiolis),  Cheeseboards with outstanding artisinal cheeses, charcuterie and traditional accompaniements, and the Brasserie V Belgian salad (Frisee’ and grilled Belgian endive, crumbled egg, warm bacon, toasted almonds, and apple, tossed in apple cider vinaigrette).

The dinner menu always includes Steak-Frites (featuring a seared 12 oz Flatiron steak), Moules et Frites (classic Mussels Mariniere in a garlic, wine and butter broth), and Duck (currently a confit over cabbage with goat cheese, walnuts and balsamic reduction).  The rest of our menu varies seasonally, and you will always find one of Chef Rob’s daily specials on the chalkboard.
