8th Anniversary Celebration, featuring St. Bernardus & Free pours of Oak-Aged Abt 12!
August 12, 2015 @ 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
You guys, we’re eight years old, and we kind of can’t believe it. A restaurant turning eight is not unlike a child turning eight: we’re still really picky about what we eat and drink, and at least two of the staff still think that professional wrestling isn’t scripted. For real though, this is a milestone for the Brasserie V staff, owners, and clientele–hey, that’s you!–and we figured a celebration was in order. Our actual anniversary was this past weekend, but we decided to postpone doing an event because of whatever it was that went down in Olin Park on Saturday. A quilting convention? Rayovac company picnic? I forget.
Of course, no Brasserie V celebration would be complete without St. Bernardus. Since day one, our identity has been intertwined with this abbey-style brewery from Watou, Belgium: the Abt 12 has become known as our house beer, and it has never not been on tap. We were the first in the city to carry the Extra 4 when it debuted last year, and have done our best to stay up on all of their current and upcoming products.
To wit: tomorrow night, we’ll have three of the St. Bernardus beers on tap, including Abt 12, Prior 8 abbey dubbel, and the Extra 4 abbey single. Also, we’ll be offering small pours of the brand new Oak-Aged Abt 12, a batch of their classic quad aged on Calvados (a French apple brandy) barrels for six months. We opened a couple of bottles at a tasting some weeks back, and we’re really excited for you to finally try it. All you have to do is buy a full-sized pour of a St. Bernardus tap beer, and you’ll get a 4.5 oz pour of the Oak-Aged…free! Check below for all the details, and we’ll see you there!
Chef Casey and his staff will be whipping up a special menu item, featuring St. Bernardus, for the evening.
Three St. Bernardus beers on tap: Abt 12, Prior 8, Extra 4, bottles of Pater 6 and Wit.
